What do exclusive clubs, faux lesbians and sturgeon egg smuggling all have in common? They're all part of the beautiful but edgy city of Moscow, and what I got involved in when visiting there in June 2003. Just what what was I doing with six times the allowed export limit of caviar anyway? A beautiful and hard-hitting soundtrack for a remarkable city. |

What is the point of making a classical music compilation? In May we rented a flat in the Via del Pellegrino in the heart of Rome. The beautiful city, the lush greenery, the warm Mediterranean month of May, all seemed to fit with the music of (yes, I know, Venetian) Vivaldi and the rainbow flags hanging from every other balcony that called for "Pace" in the Middle East. |

In March 2003 the world changed yet again. The USA and UK decided that the imminent threat of weapons of mass destruction (a term used so often it became "WMD") was so great that they were justified in ignoring the United Nations and invaded Iraq. This eclectic disc, dare I say "Rock Opera", echos the clashing music and mentalities of those who went to war - as well as those who wanted to avoid it. Arabic, English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, but as in Iraq, no WMD to be found. What comes next? |

In February 2003 I got an offer I couldn't refuse: two Air France business class tickets for the free miles of one. Time for some Southern Hemisphere sun in the middle of Belgian winter. The result was a week right on Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. It was two weeks before carnival, but the tempo was already moving from Bossa Nova to Samba. And what better companion to the music than a caipirinha - the national drink made of "Lime, Sugar and Sugar Cane Booze"? |

In January 2003 I had a revelation in the Sanjusangendo temple in Kyoto, Japan. No, I haven't shaved my head yet; the revelation concerned Madonna. As this would suggest, the result was "Apasmara", without a doubt my most surreal disc to date. But what do Japanese Buddhism, Madonna, Lord Shiva and (gasp) George Bush have in common? |

This is a disc about home. My new home that started as my new house, but soon became more than that. Keeping with my state of mind, it is a compiliation of calm and often soothing love songs. A nice contract to my "moving disc" Tsek. Some tracks are new, some are classic but all carry the same message. I just want to feel true love, feel the home that I live in. |
