| Celebrating cousin Dave's birthday at Dali in Cambridge. Aug 14 |
| Later, we took off just the two of us for a week "down east" in Maine. The scenic Cape Neddick lighthouse, low tide in beautiful Kennebunkport and at the Bush family compound recently visited by Putin and Sarkozy. Our favourite lobster pound at Cape Porpoise (excellent seafood, cheap champagne) and our lovely guest house overlooking the village of Ogunquit. Good sights, theatre ("The King and I" with Lorenzo Lamas), lobster every day and sand in our shoes. Summer! Aug 19-25 |

| Ah, indian summer in Belgium. People sip beer as we visit the flower market on the Grand'Place in Brussels. The next day we dropped off Sara in Brugge, and browsed through an enormous flea market. I found a nice art deco frame and (incredibly) a small Haida indian totem. Sep 23 |
